David Simon Contemporary
David Simon has been involved with contemporary art galleries in London and the South West of England for over twenty years. After finishing a degree in Fine Art and History of Art at Exeter University, he cut his teeth at a gallery in London’s Mayfair, where he spent six years managing exhibitions and international art fairs. Opening his first gallery in Bristol in 2005, he moved the business to Bath in 2014 and in 2019 to a larger premises on the High Street in Castle Cary. He has worked closely with many well-known and emerging British artists over the years and enjoys spending time building long-term relationships with the artists he represents. David Simon Contemporary, winner of ‘Best Independent Retailer in Bath Award 2016′, shows established and emerging British artists with a focus on semi-figurative work, through a programme of monthly exhibitions. The gallery makes a point of supporting at least one charitable cause each year (usually local to Bath). In recent years this has included Bath Abbey, TOP UK, and Coalition for Tibet. The gallery is proud to be a regular sponsor of the Royal West of England Academy’s Annual Open Exhibition and the Bath Society of Artists’ Annual Open Exhibition.David Simon Contemporary occupies a large Georgian former bank in the bustling market town of Castle Cary.
