When it comes to food Castle Cary and the surrounding area has it all…
From cosy cafes serving coffee and cake to high end restaurants we have it all, it’s a foodie paradise.
Walk down the high street and the smells will start to hit you as you pass Home Cafe where Luke creates a ever changing menu of home cooked dishes with plenty of choices for vegetarians and vegans. On the opposite side of the road is the Bake House serving the finest home made cakes / desserts and a fantastic blend of traditional english dishes alongside Thai cuisine. Both places offer inside or outside dinning options.
A little further towards the town centre you find the George Hotel where food is served all day so if its breakfast, lunch or dinner you are after there is always something on offer that is freshly cooked and hearty. Adjacent to the historic market house are two of Castle Cary’s foodie treats at different ends of the culinary spectrum. The Place is a bustling traditional cafe where breakfast is a must and the burgers are worth a repeat visit, on the other side of the cobbles is the Deli for takeaway treats of cheese, breads, meats and olives etc.
As you continue towards the horse pond the food options keep going with Burns the Bread bakery with takeaway options and the traditional fare of Danela’s bakery and cafe.
Surrounding Castle Cary are several high end eating options including the Chapel in Bruton, The Newt in Somerset and the restaurant at Hauser and Wirth.
What ever your taste buds desire you will find it in Castle Cary.
